Robotics for All
Since young, I have always had an interest in volunteering and helping others. My first volunteering role was at Kidizens, where I assisted summer camps and after school classes. I was promoted to birthday party assistant, a paid position which I still hold today.
After volunteering at Kidizens for a while, I decided to seek out new opportunities. By doing a quick search on Volunteer Match, I found Reading Partners. At Reading Partners, I tutored students from low-income families reading one-on-one. The students were extremely appreciative of my work, and I found my work to be very impactful.
The culmination of my work at Kidizens, Reading Partners, and on several robotics teams led me to found Robotics for All. Robotics classes are generally very expensive, and low-income families are not able to afford them. I wanted to give students from low income families the opportunity to learn robotics.
Since I founded Robotics for All, it has grown to three locations across two states. As of September 2020, Robotics for All has taught 770 students (virtual and in-person classes) and has an active volunteer base of 85 volunteers. Robotics for All is certified under Internal Revenue Code 501 (c)(3) as a non-profit organization. To learn more about Robotics for All, please feel free to visit www.roboticsforall.net.
"The joy on Max's face transferred to the students' faces so easily. His excitement became their excitement" (Kathy Shionis, School Administrator).
