Light and Shadow
September 2018 All photos in this assignment were shot on 35 mm. film. The photos were taken at two places: Henry M. Gunn High School and the Palo Alto Baylands. Gunn High School is a place I go almost every day, and this assignment made me look for unique patterns in light and shadow that I don't see regularly. The Baylands are a place that I really enjoy biking. I went there at dusk with my father to capture the long shadows created by plants, my bike, and even myself. |
The header photo is the contact sheet of all the photos I took.
Both photos above and to the left were taken at a dry lakebed in the Baylands. Although the phots may seem very different, they were only taken about 15 feet away from each other. I really like the long shadows cast by the bikes in the photo above. The contrast of the plants and sand in the photo on the left stand out. |
